What is Telehealth?
Telehealth refers to the use of online information and communication tools to manage your health care and receive medical treatments from a distance. The use of technology by your healthcare provider to enhance or support healthcare services is known as telehealth.
Telehealth and telemedicine services cover online counseling and psychiatry for those of our patients who live outside of Dallas.

During your evaluation we will not only discuss medication options for treatment with you but also meditation, TMS, Ketamine and other less or even non-invasive treatments to help create a complete treatment plan based on your individual needs.

What options does CIP provide you?
There are several options for telehealth care:
- At CIP, we are love to see our patient’s live in-office whenever possible as we feel that this is ore therapeutic and a higher standard of care.
- For those who live outside of the Dallas area, or for those individuals who are physically unable to come to the office, CIP clinicians are able to connect with you by video chat. You would have a live conversation with your healthcare provider.
- We also use secure messaging and secure file exchange through your patient portal to send and receive communications between you and CIP.
What are the benefits of telehealth?
- Many vulnerable populations are unable to receive care live in-person due to increased risk of catching COVID-19 or other health related issues that make it hard for them to come to the office. Some of those folks still need psychiatric care. We can help!
- You can receive medical attention anywhere, including at home, work, or even in your car, thanks to virtual visits.
- Virtual visits reduce the need for child care, travel, and time away from work.
- Tools for virtual health care help reduce appointment wait times. IT SAVES TIME.

We strongly encourage and prefer in-person visits. We offer televideo sessions as an added convenience.
There is no cost difference between televisits vs in-person. Most consultations in telepsychiatry are now covered by many insurance companies
Advances in technology have improved video quality as well as encryption when connecting with patients, ensuring that we can provide our patients with the same level of confidentiality and comfort as we would in the office.

Yes, your provider can make a diagnosis and prescribe any medication as appropriate. Please note however that as a general policy, CIP clinicians do not prescribe controlled medications.
